Rancho Brazos Community Centers

Rancho Brazos Community Centers is the key resource and activity center for “at-promise” children and families in the Rancho Brazos, Sandy Beach, and all of Hood County. RBCCS offers a future with hope while giving a “Hand-Up” instead of a hand-out.

Our Organization

The 99 year lease

In early days of 2022, a conversation took place with our local County Commissioners Jack Wilson about ever growing local community needs. As we walked and talked around the RBCC's campus we discussed 4.66 acres of unused land surrounding our current community center.

April 2022, we stood before commissioner's court requesting a 99 year lease at $1.00 for every year totaling $99.00 . The request was approved unanimously and our journey for growth, opportunity, and more impact began .

Late April our friends at United Way Hood County contacted us about a grant opportunity we qualified for .

The Kubota HomeTown Proud grant was soon applied for by Rancho Brazos Community Centers .

We were elated to be one of almost 900 applicants to be chosen for the grant .

This means our vision of Phase One " Community Garden Project " is covered by the $100,000 Grant.

Phase Two " The Douglas Long outreach center " modeled much like the Tarrant Area Food Bank Parker County Location. A place to house a community pantry , a warehouse to store produce from the community gardens , and educational kitchen space and more . We are hosting a Gala 10.20.22 to continue to make this dream a reality .

Phase Three " An indoor gym/ rec center" allowing a space for parent & community education, community space for meetings, lastly offering a safe space for teens to gather for quality programs .

With the long term goals to be the centrally located 5 acre complex developed with the mindset of long term sustainability within our own community .
